The two friendly customs officers just left ZERO. We’re officially checked in and got our passports stamped.

I haven’t thought we could make it within the given period and actually asked for a 10 days extension. BUT! Today is exactly 30 days after my unsatisfying visit at the anchorage customs office.

Canada, in this case Prince Rupert, welcomed us with grey skies, rain and no wind. It looks very ugly but I guess any town looks ugly in a grayish weather like we have today, doesn’t matter how beautiful it might be..

But weather is weather and tomorrow it will be better, I hope.
Ketchikan, our last port in Alaska was full of cruise ships. So except some shopping, a visit at customs to get my papers stamped and a little walk through the crowded streets there was nothing we wanted to do there. Off we went and found a little bay further south.

Unfortunately the promised wind wasn’t coming and so we burned some fuel to enter Canadian waters..

Tomorrow we’ll explore Prince Rupert.

Aloha

  1. Glad your customs exit and entry went smoothly. Enjoy Canada! Where next?

  2. Hip hip hooray! You made it! I was really hoping they were going to send you back North to the place we won’t speak of and impound the boat. Just kidding I wish you could of had more time to explore along the Alaaka coast. How much time do you have to be in Canada? Ride it out as long as you can. Beautiful country. Once you hit Southern Oregon, Bandon is a cool town with nice beaches. Half rock formations and half sand. Face Rock is really cool. Shallow bar sometimes….. Port Orford is a cool spot to check out. Cape Blanco is the farthest place West in the lower 48. Normally people flying R/C sailplanes along the cliffs there. Thanks again for sharing your adventure. Smooth Sailing.
