first of all: sorry for not sending any news since our splash!! We had absolutely no connection.

To recharge our mex phone and Internet we need to log in on the telcel page. But it’s not working if you have NO credits left!

Anyway. We sailed from Guaymas to San Carlos and stayed there for a couple days, enjoyed playa algodones, partied with our friends from the yard on the beach and had a long kitesurfen session just in front of the boat.

Last Monday I drove to Obregon with Carlos, the owner of the shop which “repaired” our windlass. And we found someone who was able to fix the problem. Something inside was mounted upside down?!  The other problem with our water tank was ridiculous easy. The hose from the tank vent was loose. We replaced the old hoses and hose clamps and ready we were.

Next day we got our -again repainted- windlass delivered to the fuel dock in San Carlos.  And this time it looks and works good!

We quickly exchanged the through hull  from the manual bilgepump and next morning we left for he baja side. ( maybe morning was midday..?)

First landfall was just south of conception bay. Bahia Juanito. The people say the water is much clearer on the baja side.. And guess what.?They are right.

Isla coronados hosted us the following night and yesterday morning we left for la Paz at 6 am.

We had mostly calm weather with shifting winds but last night it blew around 26 knots. Of course during night. At day time there was no wind.

But it was a good first test of the newly refitted ZERO and her crew. Both passed very well. We had two spotted tuna and one octopus biting on our bait so it wasn’t boring at all.

Now we anchored just in front of the promenade behind the big pier. I think this must be exactly your former anchorage, Werner. Just in front of Burger King.

So for all who were concerned about the “little problems” we had after splashing..

Anything works good!!

To all boatyard residents: hurry up and finish your projects. Sailing in blue water is so much more enjoyable than working in a dusty boatyard. Good luck!

Greetings from ChriBecca and Frank

  1. Yes right, in front of BurgerKing was my anchorage for 2 years. Glad you’re back in your element and all will go well.

The Veapa is 90% completed. Drove in to town (without sidecar) and the motor stalled in town and on the way back again.
The 3plug connector that YOU installed keeps disconnecting when the scooter goes through a dip in the road. Just have to extend the wire manjana.

Gruss an deine Manschft (Frauschaft einbegriffen)
