The first week is over and we have gathered a lot of new memories we wanna share with you. First at all.. we had a good flight with no trouble at all. Except the discussion about my boardbag at the check in counter in Düsseldorf. But after a little frienndly asking it went through. We had around 120 kg of luggage traveling with us. We booked with Delta Airlines and enjoyed our individiuell entertainment sytem by watching movies the whole time. Our stopover in Atlanta - the biggest airport worldwide - was impressive. Atlanta has 7 terminals which are connected by its own underground subway. To our surprise the inland flight has seat entertaiment system as well and we watched even more movies. After picking up ALL of our luggage, we met Jack and his sister Susan. The luggage nearly overloaded Jacks car. First stop..? Fiddlers Green! We started all journeys here and think it´s a good omen. Jack put us on a 47 ft Powerboat we knew from our last time in SD. We started immedietly looking for cars. Because we didn´t had a car to drive around we asked the sellers if they can come to us and show us their van. And some of them did. Ron came down from Oceanside to present his Ford Econoline on Wednesday and we decided to buy it. We only had seen 3 cars but the Ford convinced us. Next Day we drove to the DMV (Department od Motor Vehicles) and registered the van to us and got insurance for it. This all happend so quick and easy we couldn´t believe. Now we could drive around and get all things done without asking for help by somebody. One of our first drives was - of coure - to home depot. Bying some wood and tools to build a closet and install the house battery, inverter and 12 Volt plugins. We found a roof rack on craigslist and got it sanded , painted and installed within 24 Hours. Now the car ist almost ready (almost because cars like this are never ready at all - like boats) and we wanna introduce you to..

the beast!!

Imagine you were in the USA on the 31th. October.. guess what.? It´s HALLOWEEN! People go mad on Halloween. First guy we met was Ron from Westmarine. He was dressed like a pirate.Bbut with his long beard and long hair he looked very authentic. He was wearing a nice pirate hat, a pistol and a sword. He looked awsesome. AND he was acting like capt. Jack Sparraow.. means he was moving like a drunken sailor. BUT he was working that day and after some personal chat he answered our questions about boat stuff.. In the evening we, Jack, Rebecca and me, went to gaslamp district. Former the main road from the city to the harbour with lots of saloons its now the local party area with even more saloons and restaurants. Motivated by Ron we were all dressed like pirates, of course! We first walked around the streets to enjoy all costumed people sitting in one of the pubs or restaurants. Then we sat down in a restauranrt as well. After a while we settled to the front row and started bringing joy to the people. Jack suggested to start voting on people passing us and made voting numbers on paper plates. So we started voting people with nice costumes and of course gilrs with hot costumes!! We didn´t want to annoy anybody we only had numbers from 5 to 10. But we mostly used the 10. It was absolutly funny for us and people who got voted start smiling or laughing as soon as they understood what happened. After a while it must have known by lots of people because the passed us a few times and when we didin´t vote them they turned around and did again. We recognized people making pictures of us and the votes they got. We had lots of fun an probably would do it until daylight if ... if they wouldn´t have stolen my beer!! Guess what? After midnight it´s not allowed to serve or drink alcohol outside. I just went to the toilet and when I came back my beer was gone!! What the f**k?? Anyway it was very funny..!
